May 15, 1958 was the day I made my mother the happiest in her life, the day I was born. Growing up in the Lake Martin
area with a strict background in religion, family unity and community involvement along with my three sisters, I quickly understood
the word “minority” in a house full of females. In my early college years, I followed my mother, Lois Looney (Director
of Nursing – Russell Medical Center) into the medical field and again making her proud by being honored as the 1980
Alabama Paramedic of the Year.
In late 1982,
I was heavily recruited to become part of a small national team which would design the very first automotive parts software
and computer for inventory control and sales. My position as V.P. of national training and implementation allowed me the opportunity
to extensively travel the North American Continent and gain the experience, knowledge, and respect from the many corporations
and CEO’s for whom I had the pleasure of advising. My speaking presentations focused on employee motivation and achieving
set goals along with this specific software education.
